Mexico City, also known as the Valley of the Damned, is the capital city of Mexico and located in the Valley of Mexico. It is the most important center for financial, economic and cultural events of the country. Mexico City is one of the world's largest and most populated cities, ranked third as on 2007 with a population around 18,131,000. The city was originally built by the Aztecs in 1325 on an island of Lake Texcoco and the municipality of Mexico City was established in 1524.
